South Valley Public Library
Natural lighting and energy efficiency were prime considerations in the design of this new 80,000 volume branch library, which includes indoor and outdoor program / multipurpose space, an outdoor reading courtyard, and a staff break room and traditional courtyards. The design reflects the importance of the library’s relationship with the adjacent school as well as other external and site influences such as acequia, highway, existing trees, and mountain views.
Winner of the 1991 Best Building Award, New Mexico Business Journal.
Voted by residents as one of South Valley’s “Favorite Places”
